See the Alert Page for more details.
Transportation Services provides shuttle service to Texas State students, faculty, and staff in San Marcos. Services levels and routes are determined based on demand, student density, and available resources. Local public bus service, (including ADA accessible demand-response service), is provided by the City of San Marcos. Requests for shuttle service expansions should be directed to the Texas State University office of Transportation Services at 512.245.5555.
The Bobcat Shuttle system(operated by First Transit), is provided for Texas State students, faculty, staff, and visitors and is designed to alleviate campus parking demand and traffic congestion. Services are available from perimeter parking on and near campus via Campus Routes and from densely populated areas of San Marcos via City Routes to serve this purpose.
Information about when and where the Bobcat shuttle runs is available through our Route & Schedule Information page, link on the main menu bar.
We have been working to develop a system which will allow our passengers to see when the shuttle will arrive at their stop. Whether waiting for your shuttle to arrive for your trip to campus; on campus; or in Austin or San Antonio for our BTI riders, you will be able to see when the next shuttle will arrive at your stop throughout the service day.
You can access this technology from any smart phone or cell phones which are web capable. There are also options to text information back to your phone. You will also find QR codes at many major stops on and off campus; scan these codes to link to arrival times for shuttles at these locations as an additional quick option to find out when the next shuttle will arrive at your stop.
Additional Accessible Service:
For those unable to use existing fixed routes provided by the Bobcat Shuttle or CARTS: CARTS provides curb-to-curb service, (from any address point at the curb to any address point at the curb), in San Marcos to eligible passengers, (a certification form documenting the passenger’s disability may be required). 24 hour advance booking is recommended.
Parking Services Administrative offices are located at the south entrance to the Matthews Street garage. Their phone number is 512.245.2887. More information is available on their website.
